Blackhawks Send Jeremy Morin To Rockford For Conditioning Assignment
(CBS) The Blackhawks have sent forward Jeremy Morin down to AHL Rockford for a conditioning assignment, they announced Tuesday morning.
It continues a rocky season for the 23-year-old Morin, who has yet to record a point in 15 games this season and has struggled to earn playing time. Morin hasn't appeared in a game since Nov. 20, and the Sun-Times recently reported that Morin either wants to play or be traded, though at practice Monday he said he was focused on improving his game.
A player must consent to a conditioning assignment, according to the league's collective bargaining agreement, and it can't last more than 14 days. With a conditioning assignment, a team doesn't have to expose a player to waivers.
Chicago plays at New Jersey tonight at 6 p.m. CT.
