Blackhawks Send Brophey Back To Rockford After One Day
(WSCR) - Evan Brophey was called up from Rockford to replace Tomas Kopecky Saturday for his NHL debut. Kopecky was out with an upper-body injury.
Joel Quenneville said "This is a good opportunity for him."
"When we were talking to our guys who all went down to Rockford, we told them, 'Hey, the guys who are deserving to come up are going to get the opportunity.' It's healthy that guys know it's the objective down there and it's the criteria for getting rewarded.
"He put himself in position to be the guy."
Brophey spent 7:09 on the ice, won four of five faceoffs and had three hits. He also had one shot on goal and one blocked shot.
After filling in for Kopecky and getting his moment in the NHL, Brophey was sent back to Rockford.
