Blackhawks Recall Goaltender Simpson
(CBS) After Corey Crawford left Sunday's game with an injury, the Blackhawks on Monday announced they have recalled goaltender Kent Simpson from the Rockford IceHogs.
Simpson, 21, has appeared in 15 games with Rockford this season, posting a 6-7-0 record, with a 3.38 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage in those contests. He made a season-high 49 saves on a season-high 51 shots against on Oct. 5 at San Antonio.
Simpson was selected by the Blackhawks in the second round, 58th overall, of the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
The team also placed forward Bryan Bickell on the injured reserve list, retroactive to Nov. 19.
