Blackhawks Promote Danault, Place Sharp On LTIR
(CBS) The Blackhawks have recalled forward Phillip Danault from AHL Rockford, they announced Friday morning, and also placed forward Patrick Sharp on the long-term injured reserve.
The 21-year-old Danault has 10 points in 14 games with the Icehogs this season. He was a first-round pick of Chicago's in the 2011 draft. Danault hasn't yet appeared in an NHL regular-season game yet.
Sharp had nine points in 13 games this season before suffering a lower body injury in an early November contest. He hasn't played since. He was originally expected to be out about four weeks, and the Blackhawks emphasized that this move doesn't change that timeline, as placing Sharp on the LTIR was done retroactively. He's expected to start skating soon as Chicago continues its circus road trip in Canada and out West.
