Blackhawks Need To Keep Things Simple
The Blackhawks have struggled throughout the 2010-11 season, and sometimes the best remedy is to simplify things.
"When things aren't going well, you do try to take the weight of the world on your shoulders and maybe you try to do a little too much," former Blackhawks' player and current analyst, Steve Konroyd said on the Danny Mac Show. "And I think it was such a huge benefit to the Blackhawks last year, that they seemed to have a different star each night. And this year, not so much."

When the Blackhawks aren't controlling the puck the way they have in the past, players have a tendency to force the issue and do more than is necessary.
"You hear in hockey all the time," Konroyd said. "When you simplify your game you're normally going to play better. And keep it simple, keep it stupid. And some times when you try to get a little too fine and a little too fancy, that's when it ends up biting you."
Last season, Duncan Keith won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenseman. This season, Keith has been struggling to find the same level he played at last year.
"Duncan is such a responsible guy that I think he feels that if he could just do a little bit more, that the team would be playing better," Konroyd said. "And some time you just have to dial it back just a little bit."
