Blackhawks Historian Bob Verdi On Playoff Traditions
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Blackhawks are looking fast and shaggy like so many others on the hockey playoff ice.
The Blackhawks' official historian is sports philosopher Bob Verdi, who says he doesn't think it looks very comfortable but there it is and there they are, skating around with all that hair on their faces as spring drifts into summer on playoff ice.
"You look at the other games, everybody is growing a playoff beard. I don't think the coaches are but even some non-uniformed personnel wear beards as kind of a playoff mask," said Verdi.

Verdi also points out as playoffs proceed it's always assistant captain Brent Seabrook, not the captain, Jonathan Toews, just Brent last in line out onto the ice as playoffs proceed.
