Blackhawks Hire Sheldon Brookbank As Rockford Icehogs Assistant Coach
(CBS) The Blackhawks have hired Sheldon Brookbank as one of their assistant coaches for AHL Rockford Icehogs, they announced Wednesday afternoon.
The 36-year-old Brookbank played two seasons in Chicago and was a member of the 2013 Blackhawks that won the Stanley Cup. His eight-year NHL career ended in 2014.
Brookbank played six games for the AHL Cleveland Monsters in 2016-17 and is now entering the coaching ranks.
Brookbank's brother, Wade, is a pro scout for the Blackhawks.
