Blackhawks Could Be A Scary First-Round Opponent

At one point this season the Chicago Blackhawks looked like a team that wouldn't make it to the postseason, now they look like a very scary first-round opponent in the Western Conference.

"I don't think there's any doubt now that they're a team that...if you're in the Western Conference, you look at and say 'I don't want to face in the first round.' How's this for going out on a limb? I think they're going to make the playoffs, it sure looks like it right now. I love the fact that they're getting good depth production. And that allows the top guys, the Toews line, the Hossas, to just go, when you know you're third and fourth lines are coming together. I've been very impressed with how their defense, which has been restructured for now, has come together, minus [Tuesday] night's first period.

"And you can't say enough about Corey Crawford. I was asked...a month and a half, two months ago, if Crawford had played himself into the Calder Trophy race. And at the time I'm like 'he's in the top five, he's considered.' I'd say right now there's no question that Corey Crawford will be in some people's top three. I don't know if he's winning it yet, but there will be people who will vote him in the top three, that's how good he's been."

The Blackhawks look to rebound from Tuesday night's 3-2 loss to the Florida Panthers. On Wednesday night when they take on Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
