Blackhawks' Campoli Recovering From Knee Surgery
CHICAGO (WSCR) Blackhawks defenseman Chris Campoli underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and is expected to make a full recovery before the start of next season.
"Chris Campoli underwent successful right knee surgery on Tuesday afternoon to repair a torn meniscus," Blackhawks head team physician Dr. Michael Terry said in a statement. "The procedure went very well and he will gradually return to normal off-season workouts. I anticipate a full recovery in approximately two months."
Unless the injury occurred after the Blackhawks season ended April 26, it appears Campoli was playing with the torn meniscus. He was on the ice and guilty of the turnover that led to Canucks forward Alex Burrows' Game 7 overtime goal that ended the Blackhawks season.
