CHICAGO (CBS) -- Hours after clinching their second Stanley Cup Final victory in four seasons, the Blackhawks returned to Chicago to bring the celebration to their hometown fans.
And almost immediately, the quest to track the Stanley Cup became a city-wide obsession.
The Blackhawks defeated the Bruins 3-2 in a thrilling, come-from-behind finish to seal the Stanley Cup victory Monday night, and then it was back to Chicago to celebrate.

The team arrived at O'Hare International Airport around 4 a.m., where Chicago firefighters doused the team plane with water cannons.
Shortly after their arrival, the Hawks headed to Harry Caray's restaurant in Rosemont to show off Lord Stanley's Cup.
"Even though we weren't talking about it, two thousand fans showed up," Harry Caray's CEO Grant DePorter said. "It was about five times more fans than what we had in 2010. … I think they're getting used to Chicago winning the Stanley Cup."
Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews carried the Stanley Cup from the restaurant to the team bus after a brief celebration inside. Asked how long he thinks the team can keep partying, he said, "I don't know, we'll see. We'll hopefully set a record."

After Harry Caray's, it was off to The Scout in the South Loop for a private party for the team and their families.
Stephanie Singer and her friends were up all night, first watching the game, then heading to Harry Caray's in Rosemont to greet the team, then following them to The Scout to catch another glimpse of the team and the Stanley Cup at a private party for players, coaches, and their families inside.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel showed up at The Scout after the party had started to congratulate the team, and left after a few minutes.
An exuberant crowd hundreds fans waited outside The Scout, while the team partied inside, even though fans barely got to see the players or the trophy.
Ginger staked out a position on top of a five-foot high electrical box.
"I don't care if my kids think I'm crazy. This is a once-in-a-lifetime … well, now it's a twice-in-a-lifetime," she said. "Well, in 1961 I was a kid, but I was on the street. My parents let me see it."
Ginger said after being up all night, she was thrilled to snap a picture of the Stanley Cup as it came out.
"At two o'clock this morning, all my technology was dead from Facebooking everybody, and I had to grab the computer because that's all I had left," she said.
The cup was brought out around 8:30 a.m., followed by coach Joel Quenneville, as fans scrambled to get photos before the trophy was hauled away in a waiting limo.
It was unclear where the Stanley Cup went next. Hundreds of fans waited outside The Pony in Lakeview, where the cup made a stop on the Blackhawks' victory tour in 2010, but as of 9:45 a.m., neither the cup nor any players had showed up there.
At about 10:45 a.m., the team tweeted a photo of the Stanley Cup sitting in the Blackhawks locker room.
Around 2:30 p.m. a crowd gathered outside Phil Stefani's 437 Rush restaurant, waiting for the Cup's arrival.
Team owner Rocky Wirtz was holding a media availability at the restaurant.
The trophy arrived via motorcade from the United Center around 2:45.
After the appearance at 437 Rush, the Cup got back into its motorcade, headed north on Rush Street.
A few minutes later, it arrived at Tribune Tower and a crowd gather outside WGN Radio.
After that visit, Chopper 2 HD tracked the Cup back to the United Center, where it was resting comfortably in a conference room.
Tuesday night, players brought the Stanley Cup on a bar crawl, from Gaslight Bar & Grille in Lincoln Park, to to Market Bar on the Near West Side, and later to Rockit Bar And Grill in River North.
At Rockit Bar, Patrick Kane was seen dousing the crow with champagne, while hoisting the Cup.
Late Wednesday afternoon, the Cub traveled to New York with Patrick Kane for the taping of the "Late Show with David Letterman." A picture of The Backstreet Boys - who will deliver the Top Ten List - holding the Cup was sent out from the Late Show's Instagram account.
The team will continue to show off Lord Stanley's Cup all week, with the celebration culminating at a victory parade scheduled for Friday.
