Blackhawks Bright Spot, The Power Play
It's been a relatively rough season through the first 50 games for the Chicago Blackhawks. Much of the overflowing offensive production for last season has dropped off in five-on-five ice time.
"I think it has carried over, to a certain extent, on the power play," former Blackhawk and current analyst Eddie Olczyk said on the Boers and Bernstein Show. "And it's been top two all season long."

The makeup of the power play lines is what makes it so difficult to defend. The Blackhawks have scoring defenseman, snipers and players like Patrick Kane who can move the puck and create shots.
"They have different looks," Olczyk said. "Whether it's Kaner on those half-wing boards or they get the puck back to the point and allow Brent Seabrook with the heavy shot. Maybe it's a quick play down low...But when you are able to make both types of plays it's something really beautiful to watch."
