Blackhawks Activate Bickell; Send Morin To Rockford
By Jay Zawaski-
(CBS) On Monday, the Chicago Blackhawks announced they had activated winger Bryan Bickell from injured reserve.
To make room for Bickell on the roster, the team demoted winger Jeremy Morin. Bickell is expected to play in Tuesday night's game in Nashville.
While Bickell was hardly tearing up the league in scoring (5 goals, 1 assist in 22 games), this will be our first look at the Hawks with their forward units completely assembled. Bickell was injured shortly after the Hawks acquired Kris Versteeg from Florida, so general manager Stan Bowman's full vision hasn't yet been realized.
Let's take a look at the potential lines with Bickell in the lineup:
Sharp - Toews - Hossa
Versteeg - Handzus - Kane <OR> Saad - Handzus - Kane
Saad - Shaw - Bickell <OR> Bickell - Shaw - Versteeg
Bollig - Kruger - Smith
There is no team in the NHL that can match that level of offensive depth. The next order of business is to get Corey Crawford healthy, then to survive the Olympics. After that, it's full steam ahead to the playoffs, and hopefully a long Stanley Cup run.
