Blackhawks Acquire Jonathan Toews' Brother
(CBS) The Blackhawks acquired David Toews, the brother of center Jonathan Toews, Friday in a trade with the New York Islanders.
The team made the trade in exchange for future considerations.
Toews, 21, played with the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings last season. He scored 22 goals and added 33 assists in 66 games with the team.
Toews was drafted by the Islanders in the third round of the 2008 draft and played two seasons at North Dakota where his brother Jonathan also played. He scored nine goals and added 17 assists in 55 career games with the Fighting Sioux.
