Biggs: Urlacher Needs To Play Sunday
(WSCR) Throughout the entire preseason, Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher has maintained the stance that he'll play in the season-opener.
The Bears kick off their regular season Sunday against the Colts, and though Indianapolis owned the worst record in the NFL in 2011, the Bears can't look past them and sit Urlacher.
"You gotta have him out there," Brad Biggs of the National Football Post and Chicago Tribune told The Mully and Hanley Show. "The NFL, in 16 games with every opponent being able to sneak up and take someone else out, you've gotta be there with your best Sunday against the Colts to win that game. You can't go looking past them to the Packers. (The Bears) belief is that he's going to be OK to following week."

It's less than a month since Urlacher had his right knee scoped - the Bears need to get him through the Colts game before they begin game-planning for their matchup against the Packers.
"Let's see him out there on Wednesday and again on Thursday and know that he can go out there and play against the Colts and then make it through that game," Biggs said. "Everything has been positive going into this. They have taken their time with him. The idea that he could be back in two weeks after the scope - that obviously didn't happen. He was given a little more time than that. They've got a tight timeline since he had that scope, but they've got their fingers crossed and they're hopeful. They really need him in the middle of that defense."
