Biggs: Orton Tops List Of Available QBs
(WSCR) Among the list of quarterbacks the Bears could bring in with Jay Cutler sidelined, Kyle Orton clearly tops that list.
"Orton obviously hasn't had any experience with Mike Martz, and you say, 'Well, what value would he be coming in three weeks from now if he was needed and he just kind of has a very rudimentary understanding of the offense?'" Brad Biggs of The National Football Post and Chicago Tribune told The Mully and Hanley Show. "Well, if J.T. O'Sullivan or Josh McCown, guys who know the offense, come in and don't perform well, what value are they? If they pull a Todd Collins, is that helping you that the guy knows what's on page 522 of the playbook? I don't know."

While the Bears have made it clear they have confidence in Caleb Hanie, it's clear Orton is much more experience starting in big games.
"Orton's a guy who has started 66 games in the National Football League," Biggs said. "He's attempted 2,000 passes more than Caleb Hanie has. He's got some experience. Maybe it's a deal where Jerry and Lovie go, 'No, we need to go with a guy who's a professional quarterback who is an experienced guy, who has been in big situations before."
