Biggs: Bears Wide Receivers Impress In Training Camp

(WSCR) Here's something you may have never thought you'd hear: The Bears wide receivers were a strong point in training camp.

With the acquisition of Brandon Marshall via trade and Alshon Jeffery through the draft, the Bears have a seemingly strong wide receiving corps.

"For three weeks, Brandon Marshall was everything you expected when you haven't been able to have the joy of watching a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver for seemingly ever," Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune and National Football Post told The Mully and Hanley Show.

It wasn't just the three-time Pro Bowler who was impressive at camp, however, the rookie Jeffery seemingly made a name for himself as well.

"I'll be honest, I thought Alshon Jeffery was better than I expected," Biggs said. "You don't expect rookie wide outs to come in and do really big things, but he seemed to always be exceeding expectations there. I'm still a little cautious with him headed toward the season, but this is a wonderful departure from the training camp of Bernard Berrian, Mark Bradley and Earl Bennett. (Jeffery) looks like he's going to do stuff as a rookie."
