Big Hurt Settles Lawsuit
Former White Sox star Frank Thomas has settled his long-standing legal battle with a group of doctors that allegedly misdiagnosed an injury back in 2004.
Back in 2006, Thomas filed a lawsuit claiming that two of the White Sox's team doctors failed to diagnose his broken his foot, an injury he said eventually led to him leaving Chicago.
"The case was amicably resolved," Thomas Demetrio, Thomas' lawyer, told the Chicago Tribune. "Frank is very pleased and is looking forward to Sox Fest this weekend."
According to Demetrio, the confidential settlement is between Thomas and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. Doctors Gregory P. Nicholson and Kathleen Weber were initially named as defendants, but have since been dismissed from the case.
