Big First Inning Leads Dodgers Past Cubs
CHICAGO (AP) Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 21 games with a single in a five-run first inning and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 7-3 for their fourth win in five games.
Hiroki Kuroda (3-2) gave up three hits and two runs in the first, then scattered six hits the rest his six innings. Overall he allowed three runs - two earned - struck out seven and walked none.
Carlos Zambrano (2-1) worked five innings, giving up six runs and eight hits. He struck out four without walking a batter.
Ethier is one of only three players in baseball history with a 21-game hitting streak in April. his former manager Joe Torre had a 22-game streak in 1972.
