Biden Coming To Town To Stump For Quinn
CHICAGO (CBS) - Vice President Joe Biden will be in Chicago Tuesday, placing his support behind Gov. Pat Quinn.
Biden is expected to headline a "Putting Illinois Back to Work" rally Quinn is holding Tuesday afternoon. The rally is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local 130 union hall, at 1340 W. Washington Blvd. on the Near West Side.
Quinn is locked in a tight race with his Republican opponent, Illinois State Sen. Bill Brady.
National Democrats have been turning out in force for Illinois candidates recently, Last week, President Barack Obama attended a fundraiser for Alexi Giannoulias, who is also in a tight race against Republican Mark Kirk for the Illinois U.S. Senate seat Obama once held.
Later this week, First Lady Michelle Obama is also expected to attend a Giannoulias fundraiser.
