Bicyclist Killed In Portage Park
(CBS) -- A 28-year-old bicyclist has died from the injuries she suffered when being struck by a truck in the northwest side Portage Park neighborhood.
Police said the accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday, near the intersection of Belmont and Cicero avenues.
The truck driver remained on the scene and was questioned by personnel from the Chicago Police Major Accident Investigations Unit.
Chicago Fire Department paramedics transported the bicyclist with multiple injuries to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where she later died.
Neither police nor the Cook County Medical Examiner's office would release the identity of the bicyclist, pending notification of her family.
