Betty-Loren Maltese's Old House To Go Up For Auction
CICERO, Ill. (CBS) -- A piece of the storied history of corruption in west suburban Cicero can now be yours.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Nancy Harty reports, the three-bedroom one-and-a-half-bath home at 3818 S. Austin Ave. may not raise any eyebrows. But a look at the lavender drapes, mirrored living room, and huge, white entertainment center provides a clue of the previous owner.

That owner is former Cicero Town President Betty Loren-Maltese, and the Chicago Sun-Times reports the house will be auctioned off this coming Thursday.
The government-seized property is being auctioned to pay off Loren-Maltese's debts from an insurance scam conviction.
The Sun-Times reports 32 groups of people went through the home for a tour this past weekend.
After being released last year, she had to move into a tiny one-bedroom apartment in the south suburbs, surviving on a small widow's pension.
She has been seeking to have her conviction overturned, in hopes of regaining custody of her teenage daughter, Ashley, who lives with Loren-Maltese's estranged sister in Alabama.
Loren-Maltese says she will be at the auction at noon Thursday, the Sun-Times reported.
