Best Places To See Fireworks In Chicago

The Fourth of July is a much-anticipated holiday for people in Chicago. With an abundance of venues throughout the city hosting their own fireworks show and the wonder and amazement that comes from both the young and old alike, Chicagoans revel in their chance to partake in this national holiday. In 2012, "4th Of July Fests & Fireworks In The Suburbs" was a great resource for those looking for fireworks shows just outside of the city. However, some of the great places to view fireworks on the Fourth of July were left off that list.

You don't need to wait until Independence Day to see fireworks. Navy Pier hosts a fireworks show multiple times throughout the summer, through August 28. Wednesday shows will start at 9:30 p.m and end at 10 p.m., while Saturday shows start at 10:15 p.m. and end at 10:45 p.m. These will be accompanied by some sort of special event, like a water show, for all to enjoy.

This 4th of July celebration event is all encompassing. There will be a parade, musical concert and a lakefront fireworks show. Fireworks can be seen from any area around the lakefront area east of Downtown Evanston. Each year, there are bands and concerts that feature patriotic music. Kids will love the parade and families will stick around to enjoy the fireworks show.

The festivities begin at 4 p.m. and include everything from face painting to various food stations. Patriotic music will be featured by the Palatine Concert Band, which starts at 7:15 p.m. in the Wallace Bowl. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. but the event runs until 11 p.m. Fireworks will be located at the lakefront.

This fireworks show will be located at the north soccer field of Bloom High School. The fireworks can be viewed anywhere around Chicago Road and 10th Street. This is a free event and open to all. The event starts with the pre-fireworks show starting at 7 p.m. and fireworks beginning at dusk.

This fireworks show is part of the festivities surrounding the Taste of Lombard. On July 4, the Taste of Lombard will be running from noon to 11 p.m., with fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m. Entrance is free for children under nine years of age and others cost $3. There will be carnival rides, live entertainment and numerous food stations to choose from.
