Mother's Day is the one day of the year that is solely focused on showing your appreciation and love to the leading lady in your life. Mothers all around the country look forward to this holiday and venues cater to make it a special day. Take advantage of the many events Chicago has to offer on Mother's Day 2013 to make it a joyful and memorable experience for you and your mom. While many people tend to get hung up on what their Mother's Day present might be, sometimes the biggest gift you can give mom is the time you spend together on that special day.

This is a special Mother's Day event for the whole family. Preregistration is $34 on May 10, while event day registration is $40. Families are encouraged to bring the kids for the free Kid Fun Run 150 Meter Dash and strollers are also welcome on the course. The registration and packet pick up is at 7 a.m., the 5k starts at 8 a.m. and the course is open for 1 hour and 20 minutes. There will be an awards ceremony at 8:50 a.m., but the best reward will be the memories and experience of doing something different to celebrate this year's Mother's Day.
