Best Mini Golf In The Chicagoland Area

Spring weather finally arrived in Chicago! There's no better way to spend a warm night or a lazy afternoon than a friendly game of mini golf. Oh, whom am I kidding, there's never a friendly, competitive-free game of mini golf. Here are a few of the best places around the Chicago area to play mini golf.

A staple of my childhood, Haunted Trails was one of the most exciting and spooky places to go play mini golf on a warm summer night. Open since 1975, the entertainment center boasts a wide range of activities including mini golf, go-karts, batting cages, rides and games. Adults can play mini golf for $6.50. Kids under 12 and seniors over 65 can play for $5.

Play at one of the places that The Travel Channel labeled as one of the Top 10 Mini Courses in America stating, "Par-King is the most original course in America." In the 1950s, a man named George opened a driving range in Morton Grove. A few years later after the driving range was a hit, he opened the mini golf course complete with fountains, topiaries and fanciful objects. While the original course is no longer there, the golfing garden dream is still alive complete with mechanical objects, wooden figures and water holes.

What better way to spend an afternoon than under the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel, taking in the sites of the skyline and lake and playing an 18-hole round of mini golf. Whether you're trying to kill some time before a performance or looking for something fun to do, the Navy Pier mini golf course is a good place to go. While it's not over the top and full of challenges, the course is still fun with its Chicago-themed holes.

Get ready to traverse a mountain while you play golf. The Lost Mountain adventure golf course allows you to explore challenging terrain and a 22-foot high cascading waterfall. Lost Mountain is most exciting at night, but can be a bit busy. On weekends, holidays, and weekdays after noon, you can play for $7.95. They offer a dollar off coupon on their website.

Tucked away in Lincoln Park is yet another one of Chicago's miniature golf courses. In the same area at the Diversey Driving Range, the 18-hole mini golf course puts your putting skills to the test as you meander through cascading waterfalls and footbridges. Adults can play a round for $9.
