Best Chicago Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving may be a day to spend feasting with loved ones, family and friends alike, but that doesn't mean you have to be the one cooking. Restaurants around Chicago are offering their own feasts on Thanksgiving Day, including everything from brunch to the traditional turkey dinner. Change out of those PJs and choose just one of the many choices available.

One of the most popular restaurants in all of Chicago for Thanksgiving dinner, Executive Chef Rick Gresh typically offers a prix-fixe menu that includes a traditional gourmet turkey dinner. But since this is a steakhouse, you can also upgrade your meal to include delicious cuts of meats, such as ribeye. Want leftovers to take home? That won't be a problem with this River North hot spot.

Head to the Palmer House Hilton for a luxurious Thanksgiving, but be sure to make a reservation first. Not only will you have a wonderful spread to choose from, but your family can also dine in either the Lockwood dining room or the mezzanine, which overlooks the hotel's historic lobby. Start your feast with a Nichols Farm butternut squash, and then dine on a variety of options that range from autumn greens to Belvedere cheeses. Entrees feature both seafood, such as a smoked lake trout, and meat, including a maple honey molasses-roasted Tom turkey. The feast is available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and pricing is $70 for adults, $65 for seniors and $40 for children ages six to 12. The meal is complimentary for children five and under.

In the mood for a French spin on the classic Thanksgiving dinner? Head to this charming bistro for a three-course dinner designed by Chef Martial Noguier. Available on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the three-course menu can either be vegetarian or carnivore; both are priced at $50 per person. For the meat lover, choose between a simple bib lettuce to start or a more decadent foie gras Torchon. Entrees range from turkey with quince and mashed potatoes to local pumpkin ravioli. No matter which menu you choose, you won't go home hungry.

For a gourmet Thanksgiving dinner at a reasonable price, head to Chef Tony Graves' Bucktown comfort food restaurant. Celebrate with your family with food served family style for just $35 per person. Chow down on a roast turkey breast with confit leg with a side of Brussels sprouts with lamb bacon, Marcona almonds and dried cranberries. Other dishes include pumpkin brioche stuffing with curry gravy and sweet potato-avocado salad with hominy cilantro, and chipotle-buttermilk dressing.

Head to the Ritz-Carlton Chicago's restaurant, Deca, for a Thanksgiving brunch like no other, one that features a luxurious buffet spread from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. In additional to the traditional fruit station, cheese plates and even omelet and waffle stations, Chef Mark Payne will also offer an array of seafood dishes, including sushi and sashimi prepared to order. A hot buffet is also available with a range of choices, from the less-traditional seafood gumbo to the more-traditional sauteed green beans. Of course, Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without some meat, so take your pick from a number of carving stations that feature everything from roasted rib eye to tom turkey. If you're still hungry, dive into the enormous array of desserts, including pumpkin pie, chestnut, crème brulee, cranberry almond puff strip, tiramisu and more. The brunch is $139 for adults and $45 for children.
