Best Breakfast In Chicago
I love breakfast so much that I can have it any time of day. Morning, noon or night, it doesn't even matter. The past few years, I've done a Midwest tour of sorts, traveling all over Illinois and stopping at many a breakfast nook on the way. Here are my top 5 favorite spots.
M. Henry
5707 N Clark St
Chicago, IL 60660
(773) 561-1600

They call it, "Chow For Now,"but this place is nothing short of a breakfast adventure. M Henry is on a league of its own. Ambiance is cute, feels homey, with old decorative windows/doors hung from the ceiling to break up the large space. M Henry has an uncanny ability to use seemingly familiar ingredients to make seemingly familiar dishes - e.g., omelets - with results that are unique, superlative, unprecedented, surprising, and delightful. The blackberry bliss cakes are delicious!
Good News: The hopping brunch spot, has added a whimsical garden dining area to it's café and bakery. Chef/owner Michael Henry. says "The extra seats and space will help us better serve our weekend brunch crowds more quickly and comfortably."
I have yet to find a better breakfast place.
Ann Sather
909 W Belmont Ave
Chicago, IL 60657

You know a good breakfast spot when it's routinely packed to the gills. The cinnamon rolls are the best ever and could serve as your breakfast and lunch on their own. The sides alone are enough to keep you satisfied. The juice is fresh squeezed and the fruit is awesome. I had classic scrambled eggs and they were some of the freshest I've tasted. The place gets very packed but the service is amazing and you don't wait around for food, coffee refills, or the check.
French toast for the win!
Nookies Tree
3334 N Halsted St
Chicago, IL 60657

Located in the heart of Boystown, Nookies Tree is the definition of the all-night breakfast hangout. Though they do serve lunch and dinner, I've only gotten breakfast here. Every single time it has been top notch. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The coffee is great and they always come by and refill it without having to wait for too long or ask.
Great fresh ingredients, fairly inventive breakfast menu and talkative staff makes this place a home run!
The Eggclectic Cafe

Egg'lectic Café, Inc. offers freshly made breakfast and lunch throughout the day. Voted best breakfast in DuPage County
Kozy Korner
461 E 63rd St
Chicago, IL 60637
(773) 752-0096
The smallest establishment on this list, The Kozy Korner is all about small-town atmosphere. Pull up to the counter, read the morning paper or talk with one of the many friendly members of the wait staff at this neighborhood spot. They're full of one-liners and great chatter.
Forget your busy schedule – fill up another cup of coffee and stay awhile.
