In the beginning, Western Exhibitions was a nomadic gallery, staging shows in apartments, lofts and any other galleries that would allow them space. Then in 2004, director Scott Speh opened the first brick and mortar building in Chicago before moving to the main contemporary gallery district in 2008. Western Exhibitions provides an outlet for conceptually-minded and visually innovative artists with gallery shows, unique artist projects and curated group shows.
