Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival Guide
Music and entertainment lovers flock to this annual festival for a weekend of great music and partying with good friends. The fun runs this Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 28th & 29th from noon to 10pm, located on Sheffield Avenue between Belmont and School Street. For a $5 donation you'll start off summer right with this two-day festival jam packed with some of the best local artists from around the area and the greater Midwest. During the day on Saturday you'll hear the sounds of Velvet Jimis and Rock Candy among other's while the 8:30pm prime time show will feature hip hop tribute, Too White Crew. On Sunday start of the day off with the rock tribute band, Sorry for Partying, and then move into the rock/pop sounds of He Said, She Said with many others to follow. Sunday night is topped off with the 8:30pm performance of Wedding Banned, not a bad way to end out the festival.
The live bands aren't they only draw for the weekend you'll find food vendors lining up, local artists displaying their art work, fun new street fashion, and of course beer tents, basically your normal street festival with the bonus of great music. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants in the area to duck into and escape the crowds but be prepared to wait in long lines with your fellow music lovers. The night doesn't have to end at 10pm when the festival does most bars around the area keep the party going until all hours.
If haven't made plans yet this weekend, make sure to put this on your list of to-dos. There is no better way to kick off summer then to hang with a few thousand of your closest friends while enjoying a great music fest. It's best to take public transportation to the event, so hop on the Brown or Red Line to Belmont.
