Bellwood Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Woman In South Loop
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Bellwood man has been charged Sunday with sexually assaulting a woman early Saturday in the South Loop.
Jason Hooks, 20, has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated sexual assault, police said.
At 3 a.m. Saturday, the 31-year-old woman was exiting the CTA Red Line in the 600 block of South Plymouth Court when a man grabbed her and hit her with a blunt object, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. The man had followed her from the Harrison Red Line station.
Hooks, of the 3500 block of West Adams Street in Bellwood, forced the woman to a secluded place where he sexually assaulted her and stole her purse, police said. He then fled in an unknown direction.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center for treatment, police said.
Hooks is scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.
