Bedford Park Police Reexamine Case Of Woman's 2002 Murder
BEDFORD PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- Bedford Park Police are taking a new look at a murder case that is now 10 years old - hoping to finally solve the stabbing death of a 27-year-old woman at the Public Storage facility where she worked.
As WBBM Newsradio's Steve Miller reports, on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, Jennifer Boyd had left a sign on the office at the storage facility, at 6990 W. 79th St., saying she'd be back soon.

She was found stabbed and barely alive in a storage locker, and no one could save her life.
"We were supposed to grow old together, have kids and enjoy the rest of our lives together, and somebody took that from me," said Boyd's sister Rebecca Hernandez. "And I think that person should be accountable for their actions."
The victim's mother told CBS2's Mike Parker: "People say there's no such thing as a perfect kid. Maybe there isn't, but she was pretty close to it."
Bedford Park police Detective Sgt. Steven Lindich says police are sending Boyd's clothing to be checked again - 10 years later - to see if new technology can reveal clues to the murder.
Lindich has assigned two detectives to go over the case to see if anything was missed.
He does not believe robbery was the motive. "Just my opinion, and I have no evidence to show (this)," he says, "but I thought this was a personal thing - and probably (done in anger) because they used a knife."
Lindich says this was one of those homicides where there was no physical evidence left behind.
Bedford Park Police are asking anyone with information about the murder of Jennifer Boyd to call detectives at (708) 563-4508.
