JP Morgan Chase was fighting bedbugs at its 10 S. Dearborn St. location two weeks ago, and Chicago Public School officials say they ordered a top to bottom treatment of the 125 S. Clark St. location after employees complained of bites.
Local pest companies say bedbugs are difficult to kill because they're resistant to a lot of pesticides. What's more, they produce rapidly and can survive on one dose of human blood for one year.
The pests carry no diseases, so city officials say business are not required to report the growing problem to the city.
