Beckham: 'I Think I Can Be Even Better'
CHICAGO (CBS) For the second straight season, White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham got off to a slow start. But after hitting .303 in May, it appears he is back on track.
Still, in an interview with The Danny Mac Show on 670 The Score Thursday, Beckham didn't seem to be too impressed with his performance in May.
"I think can be even better than that," he said. "Obviously you can have better months than that. I feel like it was a struggle to hit .303 and I think that's a good thing."

For now, Beckham is just happy his struggles didn't last as long as they did last year and he believes he learned a lot from last season.
"At the end of almost June last year I was still struggling in a really bad way and I just kind of figured its going to turn around I'm going to be OK this year and I had that in my back pocket to know that im going to be all right," Beckham said. "It was just a matter of time before I started swinging it a little btter and I've always played better in the summer so I'm just excited that summer has finally come."
Beckham also believes the White Sox are the team to beat in the American League Central.
"I think what we've got is going to win out in the end, but it's just a matter of believing that and working hard," he said.
