Beckham Headed To DL, Expected To Miss 6 Weeks
(CBS) Gordon Beckham has a fractured hamate bone in his left wrist and will be out at least six weeks, the White Sox announced Thursday.
Beckham left Monday's game against the Washington Nationals after feeling pain in the wrist and the x-rays were originally said to be negative.
An MRI revealed the fracture, however, and Beckham will undergo surgery in the next few days. After surgery, recovery is expected to take six weeks.
Beckham was off to a decent start to the season, racking up six hits (all singles) in his first 19 at-bats over seven games.
A corresponding move will be announced Friday.
