Bears Will Have Target On Their Backs In 2011
As the disappointment begins to fade, we start to look ahead to what next season may bring. And for the Chicago Bears it will likely bring high expectations and a target on their back.
And in trying to live up to those expectations, the Bears might have history and the rest of the league working agaisnt them.
"We have seen every year a turnover rate of roughly 50% from year-to-year when it comes to playoff teams," Mike Florio, of ProFootballTalk.com, said on the Danny Mac Show. "And when you grossly overachieve, then you're a team that people are gunning for early in the season."

In a sense, the Bears slipped under the radar this season and were able to sneak up on some opponents early in the season. And in the NFL, teams that start the season strong have an easier time getting to the postseason.
"The Bears are going to have a target on their backs this year because they were one of the 'It' teams this year in the NFC," Florio said.
Just like when the Bears made it to the Super Bowl, the following year every team on their schedule wanted to knock them off and had the Bears matchup circled on their calendar.
"This year, I don't think teams were up for the Chicago Bears early on," Florio said. "Next year, they're going to be up for the Chicago Bears and it's going to be hard for them to come out 3-1 like they did this year."
