Bears Wary, But Re-Energized
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) -- The Bears say they're re-energized and re-focused after having three days off. They also used the time to look themselves in the mirror and evaluate things, CBS 2's Megan Mawicke reports.
So, do they think they are better than a 4-3 team?
"No, we are what we are. We are what our record says. We have some bright spots and we've done some good things, but not enough good things to be one of the elite teams," said Bears defensive end Julius Peppers.
"When we were 3 and 0, I didn't hear anybody ask us if we were good enough to be 3 and 0. We are not going to make anything negative out of this. It is what is, and we're just going to build on from it," Bears tackle Tommie Harris said.
They will have plenty of time to prepare for the winless Bills, but it doesn't seem like a sure thing anymore the way the Bears have been playing lately. So could this be a trap game?
"I am not worried about that," Harris said. "We just need to win, and that's just plain and simple. They are a dangerous team. They are not terrible at all. They look good on film. They lose close games in overtime against good teams."
"I am pretty sure they are going to bring their A game against us," Bears running back Chester Taylor says. "They want that first win. We can't take them lightly because they are 0-6. We have to come in and play our football game."
One good thing the Bears have going for them right now: Lance Briggs, Roberto Garza and Major Wright all practiced Monday, so the Bears are getting healthy and should be at full strength Sunday in Toronto.
