Bears Take No. 2 Seed After Falcons' Victory
The Chicago Bears were hoping to take the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and two games determined this happening. They needed the Carolina Panthers to upset the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to beat or tie the New Orleans Saints. Atlanta spoiled this for the Bears before Chicago even took the field against Green Bay.
The Atlanta Falcons toppled the Panthers in a 31-10 victory which gave them the top spot and knocked the Bears to the No. 2 seed. The Buccaneers did beat the Saints 23-13, however, making the Saints the No. 5 seed.
