Bears Sign WR Chris Williams To Practice Squad
(CBS) The Bears signed receiver/kick returner Chris Williams to their practice squad, they announced Thursday morning. In a corresponding move, Chicago released linebacker DeDe Lattimore from the practice squad.
Williams was with the Bears all throughout the preseason, making four receptions for 94 yards and returning three kickoffs for 81 yards. He was among the final cuts by Chicago as it worked its way down to a 53-man roster. The Bears originally acquired Williams by signing him off the Saints' practice squad last December.
The Bears now have four receivers on the 10-man practice squad. Starting receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery missed Wednesdays practice with injuries.
Lattimore signed with the Bears as an undrafted rookie out of South Florida earlier this year.
