Bears Sign WR Chris Williams
(CBS) The Bears announced today they have signed wide receiver Chris Williams from the Saints practice squad.
The team has also waived defensive tackle Christian Tupou.
Williams, 5-8 and 175 pounds, entered the NFL in 2009 as an undrafted free agent with the Dolphins out of New Mexico State.
After spending time with the Browns practice squad, he signed with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2010. In 2012, he set a CFL record with six return touchdowns to go along with 1,117 punt return yards and 83 receptions for 1,298 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns.
Williams, who will wear No. 82, spent the last 12 weeks on the Saints practice squad.
