Bears Sign Northwestern Defensive Tackle Corbin Bryant
EVANSTON, Ill. (CBS) -- The Bears have signed former Northwestern defensive tackle Corbin Bryant who went undrafted in April and was forced to wait through the lockout before finding work in the NFL.
Bryant, a Chicago native who attended Morgan Park High School, was a starter in 35 career games and received an honorable mention as an All-Big Ten Performer last year.
In joining the Bears, he will be reunited with former Wildcats star Corey Wootton, also now a defensive tackle for the Bears.
Meanwhile, another Northwestern Wildcats star, St. Louis native Corey Davie, signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent. Davie started 39 career games at outside linebacker, and totaled 240 career tackles and 28 tackles-for-loss, Northwestern said.
Davie and Bryant both played in the 2011 NFL Players' Association All-Star game in San Antonio, Texas, on Feb. 5.
