Bears' Season Better Than Anyone Expected

Sitting at 10-4, with two games left to be played, the Bears are in a great position to make a deep run into the playoffs. But just a few months ago, did anyone see this coming?

"This thing has worked out better than even [the Bears] could have imagined," Brad Biggs said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "You know, they have an opportunity here, if they can close out strong, to finish up 12-4 and probably a two seed in the NFC playoffs."

Coming into the season, there were concerns about the defensive secondary, the offensive line, the running backs, the receivers and the coaching staff. But, fourteen weeks into the season, the Bears look nothing like the team that was practicing down in Bourbonnais.

"And to have been shooting much higher than [they way things are going now], when they were in training camp," Biggs said. " We saw things and it just didn't look right, and then we saw things in preseason, [and it didn't look good]."

But who could have seen this coming? Who could have taken in all of the preseason games and practices and thought that the Bears were the second best team in the NFC?

"You'd have been very hard pressed," Biggs said. "You'd have had to be a hard core cool-aid drinker to have watched the four [preseason] games and said 'hey, this is what we want to see. We're moving in right direction here."
