Bears-Packers Fast (And Sad) Facts
(CBS) You already know the Packers destroyed the Bears, 55-14, on Sunday night at Lambeau Field. Here are some facts that show how sad it was for Chicago.
--- The Bears became the second team in NFL history to allow at least 50 points in consecutive games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The other team was the 1923 Rochester Jeffersons. (Who's that? We have no idea either and aren't going to waste the time researching it.)
Bernstein: Trestman, Bears bottom out
--- The 42 points the Bears allowed in the first half was the most they had ever allowed in their history. The previous record was set two Sundays prior when they allowed 38 first-half points to the Patriots. Those marks came in the latest two of the 1,315 games the Bears have played in their history, per SI.com.
--- Aaron Rodgers' six touchdown passes in the first half tied an NFL record for a half. The six scoring passes also tied the Packers' single-game record.
--- Rodgers' 73-yard scoring pass to Jordy Nelson was his 16th touchdown toss of 70 yards or more in his career, breaking the record he previously shared with Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.
--- In two games against the Bears this season, Rodgers completed 40 of 55 passes for 617 yards, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions.
--- Green Bay's 55 points tied for the most it had ever scored at Lambeau Field. It was also the most the Packers had ever scored against the Bears, topping the previous mark of 49 in 1962.
--- Rodgers is now 12-3 in his career against the Bears.
--- Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is now 1-10 in his career against the Packers.
