Bears Officially Announce Release Of Omiyale, Adams
(CBS) The Bears announced Thursday that they officially released offensive lineman Frank Omiyale and defensive tackle Anthony Adams.
"Cuts are never easy, but are a part of the evaluation process," Bears General Manager Phil Emery said in a statement. "We appreciate all that Anthony and Frank gave the Bears organization both on and off the field during their time in Chicago. We wish them the best moving forward."
The release of Adams was reported earlier in the week and the tackle confirmed he was moving on. Adams was with the Bears since 2007, starting 40 games in five seasons.
It was widely assumed the Bears would also part ways with Omiyale. The offensive lineman never missed a game in his three seasons with the team and made 31 starts in 48 regular season games.
