Bears Notes: McClellin Practices In Full, But Briggs Still Out
By Dan Durkin-
(CBS) For the first time since injuring his right hand on Sept. 17, Bears linebacker Shea McClellin was a full participant in practice Wednesday. Fellow linebacker Lance Briggs' rib injury kept him out of practice, and coach Marc Trestman said he didn't anticipate Briggs would practice Thursday but was unclear about his availability for Sunday home game against the Dolphins.
Right tackle Jordan Mills was also held out of practice because of a foot injury. Trestman confirmed that it was the same foot that Mills had surgically repaired this past January. Mills has been the weak link on the Bears' offensive line and really struggled against the Falcons, committing presnap penalties and giving up the edge on multiple occasions.
Running back Matt Forte was given Wednesday off to rest, as he was last Wednesday. Trestman provided more background on the decision behind giving Forte a well-earned day off during the week and figuring out the best way to preserve his body for a 16-game grind.
"We're working on that," Trestman said. "We did that today, we did that last week. The data, he takes a lot of hits during the course of the game, more than anybody because of all the touches he has. He didn't practice last week, that was a decision here. It wasn't up to him. He would've practiced. We did the same thing today."
Here's the rest of the injury report.
