Bears LB Thomas Likely To Get Drug Charge Dismissed
(CBS) Bears linebacker J.T. Thomas can get his pending drug charge dismissed, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Thomas faces a misdemeanor drug possession charge after getting arrested Feb. 13 in Morgantown, W. Va. According to the newspaper, prosecution has been delayed while Thomas completes Morgantown Area Youth Services Project classes. He also paid a $165.80 fine.
Thomas participated in OTAs at Halas Hall this week and the charge is likely to be dismissed before the season begins. He could still face discipline from the NFL as league spokesman Greg Aiello told the Tribune the matter is still under review. The linebacker missed the entire 2011 season with a back injury.
Thomas can have the offense cleared from his record one year from the date of the offense.
