Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler Leaves Game With Injury

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Bears quarterback Jay Cutler came to his postgame press conference with a cast supporting his right thumb and a level of concern.
Monday night's game ended early for Cutler, who suffered an injury to his thumb and was forced to leave in the third quarter. He will be evaluated with tests on Tuesday, when more details will be provided.
"I'm concerned," Cutler admitted about the injury after the Bears' 29-14 loss to the Eagles.
The injury flared up earlier in the game, Cutler said. He then appeared to aggravate it when he was sacked from behind and fumbled in the third quarter. The Bears ran seven straight run plays on the following drive, not throwing the football with Cutler until fourth down, an errant pass.
Cutler stayed in the game until the following possession, which lasted just one play, an interception from Cutler that changed the game. He was then pulled, with backup Brian Hoyer replacing him.
During the loss, Cutler was 12-of-17 for 157 yards and the interception, his final pass of the day.
Bears coach John Fox will meet with the media on Tuesday at Halas Hall and address Cutler's injury, among many other topics.
For now, Cutler is left trying to keep faith in this season.
"We got a bunch of good guys in there," Cutler said, pointing to the locker room. "We got a bunch of good coaches and we have 14 games left."
