Bears Help Out Tornado Victims In Coal City
COAL CITY, Ill. (CBS) -- Some Chicago Bears were telling residents of hard hit Coal City to "bear down" in the wake of the weekend storms. They were helping to raise spirits during the massive cleanup effort there.
WBBM's Craig Dellimore reports that to the delight of relief workers and residents in Coal City, Bears kicker Robbie Gould and teammates Zack Bowman and Blake Costanzo pitched in to help unload donated water and other goods from trucks.
Gould says the mission is simple.
"We are just excited to be in Coal City and helping out. Obviously there are a lot of people in a lot of areas that are affected by what happened on Sunday.
"It puts what we do on Sundays in perspective and I can only imagine people are rebuilding their houses. You see one side of the street has everything intact and the other side is just the foundations," said Gould.

Teammate Sherrick McManis, who is from nearby Peoria, says he has never seen anything like the damage in the area or the outpouring of help from everywhere.
