Bears Game Day Inactives: Armando Allen Out, Henry Melton In
By Adam Hoge-
DETROIT (CBS) The Bears will be without backup running back Armando Allen Sunday against the Lions, but defensive tackle Henry Melton will play.
Both players were listed as questionable on the team's final injury report Friday and the team was hopeful Allen could play through a knee injury. It later became apparent he couldn't, however, and the team elevated Harvey Unga from the practice squad, a telling sign that Allen would be inactive. The Bears' running back depth has taken a hit with Michael Bush on injured reserve. Kahlil Bell will backup Matt Forte Sunday with Unga available in emergency. Forte suffered an ankle injury last week against the Arizona Cardinals, but will play.
Melton, meanwhile, will also play after missing the last two games with a chest injury.
Cornerback Tim Jennings (shoulder), offensive tackle Jonathan Scott (hamstring) and cornerback Charles Tillman (ribs/elbow) are all active.
The Bears' inactives also include: safety Chris Conte, linebacker Brian Urlacher, linebacker Blake Costanzo, offensive tackle Corey Brandon, defensive tackle Nate Collins and quarterback Josh McCown.
The Lions inactives include: quarterback Kellen Moore, running back Kevin Smith, cornerback Drayton Florence, safety Ricardo Silva, offensive tackle Jason Fox, offensive tackle Corey Hilliard and defensive end Ronnell Lewis.
