Bears' Earl Bennett Involved In Car Crash
Police Say Crash Involved 'Minor Property Damage'
CHICAGO (STMW) - Chicago Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett tweeted that he's glad to be "alive" after his car was rear-ended in an accident early Monday morning.
Bennett tweeted that he was OK, but his car wasn't as fortunate: "... guy ran into back of my ole skool we smashed into wall ole skool done!!! But I'm
alive that's all that matters. Thanking God I'm alive!!!!"
No injuries were reported after the driver of another car failed to slow down and rear-ended Bennett's car at 12:11 a.m. on the Ohio Street feeder ramp off the Kennedy Expressway, Illinois State Police confirmed.
Police called the crash a "minor property damage" accident and said there was no indication alcohol was involved. The driver of the other vehicle was the only one to be issued a ticket for failing to reduce speed.
Bennett had four catches for 52 yards in the Bears' 22-19 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
