CHICAGO (CBS) -- After Monday's disastrous 32-7 loss to the 49ers, the Bears have started making some changes along the offensive line, most notably benching right tackle Gabe Carimi.
The team also placed left guard Chilo Rachal on the reserve/non-football injury list, after he returned to the team Thursday. The move ends his season. He had left the team on Wednesday, and the Bears reportedly have been worried about his emotional state.
Also Thursday, the Bears demoted Carimi, and said Jonathan Scott would be taking his place as the starting right tackle, according to the Chicago Tribune. Scott was signed in early September and has played backup on the offensive line.
The Bears have also signed guard Chris Riley to the practice squad. He played at Illinois State and was signed by the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
