Bears Catch Break With Ngata Inactive

By Adam Hoge-

SOLDIER FIELD (CBS) — Pro Bowl nose tackle Haloti Ngata is inactive for the Ravens, no doubt a break for the Bears on a day where running the football will be important.

With high winds and storms expected Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field, both teams will likely be limited throwing the football. Ngata is an important gap filler for the Ravens in their run defense, but missed practice all week with a knee injury.

For the Bears, tight end Martellus Bennett is active, despite being listed as questionable on Friday's injury report with an ankle injury. Right tackle Jordan Mills is also active as expected. He's nursing a quad injury.

Meanwhile, defensive end Shea McClellin will miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury and Corey Wootton, who has been filling in at the three-technique, will start at defensive end instead of David Bass, who struggled last week. That means Landon Cohen will start at defensive tackle. Wootton will likely take reps at both spots throughout the game.

The Ravens will also be without wide receiver Marlon Brown, who leads the team with five touchdown catches.

Here are the inactives for both teams:

Chicago Bears
QB Jay Cutler
LB Lance Briggs
LS Patrick Mannelly
OL James Brown
OT Jonathan Scott
DT Jeremiah Ratliff
DE Shea McClellin

Baltimore Ravens
NT Haloti Ngata
WR Marlon Brown
S Omar Brown
RB Bernard Scott
WR Brandon Stokley
C Ryan Jensen
OLB John Simon
